Rob Robertson
Tai Chi Instructor
+ Rob's Biography
Rob retired from the U.S. Army in June of 2000 as a Lieutenant Colonel after serving twenty years in various Infantry and Joint Staff positions throughout the world.
He began studying Tai Chi just prior to his retirement. Tai Chi was an activity that he felt he could do for the rest of his life that would provide a centering effect - bringing mind, body, and spirit together. He began teaching Tai Chi in 2006. In 2009 Rob made a career change and became a personal trainer specializing in working with people 55 and older.
He has a Master’s degree in exercise science and health promotion. He was fascinated with the two disciplines – Tai Chi and exercise science. Linking the movements of Tai Chi with the anatomy of exercise creates a synergy Rob passes on to his students. At the juncture of these two paths Rob has found a way to approach fall prevention that makes sense and gives students and clients the tools to stay safe as well as finding a sense of their center through Tai Chi.
